Let the Light Fall

$370.00

8×10×3/4” (vertical orientation) original acrylic painting on canvas

I love the pops of color and loose brushstrokes of this one. It was so much fun to create!

Inspiration behind this piece:

This collection celebrates the beauty of renewal and the energy of life, inspired by vibrant blooms, dramatic light, and the hope that comes with new beginnings. Drawing from memories of our trips to Greece, where sunlight danced across landscapes and illuminated every corner, these paintings embody movement, vitality, and the promise of growth.

Guiding this collection is the timeless promise from Isaiah 43:19:

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

These words remind us of God’s ability to bring life even in barren places, echoing the resilience and joy of spring blooms.

Christina Rossetti’s poem Spring also inspires this work, capturing the quiet, unseen growth in winter:

“Frost-locked all the winter,

Seeds, and roots, and stones of fruits,

What shall make their sap ascend

That they may put forth shoots?

Tip-toe Winter,

Whirlwind Winter,

High and low,

Through frost and snow,

Through snow and frost and snow,

Sees the secret springing,

Of sap and blade and bud,

Softly blossoming.”

My hope is that each piece in this collection invites you to embrace the light, energy, and transformative power of springing forth into something new, hopeful, and full of life.
