I couldn’t help myself — I had to take photos of the shadows cast across the Kiawah homes as we headed in for our break. The marsh had given us its quiet beauty and wild rhythm, but the shadows revealed something else entirely: light doing what only light can do. I knew I would paint them. I’m excited to keep exploring these small pieces and allow them to unfold into a series of larger works this year.
