Inspiration behind this series:

These paintings were created by the river, oils in hand, chasing the ever-changing light. I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the chance to slow down—simply to be—and to soak in the beauty around me. Herons and egrets came and went, and I celebrated every quiet moment with paint.

Each piece reflects the light of the Lowcountry, full of movement, texture, and a deep appreciation for the world right in front of me. And in this time of year, they also remind me of the greater story: that the true Light has come into the world.

I fell in love with the sights of Kiawah River and the richness that oils bring to a canvas, and I hope that same beauty and stillness finds its way into your home.
