When I looked up the symbolism of both white egrets and great blue herons, I discovered that they are often thought to represent new beginnings and courage. Looking at one of these huge birds stroll through the tall reeds of a lake, river or marsh and then take off in flight, always leaves me lingering with a bit of awe. They have a wow-factor that makes me smile (and whisper “how cool”), without fail. So, the titles of these pieces echo that sentiment of hopeful starts and the beauty of a fresh, new day. May your new painting, always offer you a reminder of this optimism as well.
