Original 8x10x1.5” acrylic painting on canvas

My friend Shannon sent me a photo of a gorgeous arrangement, saying “These reminded me of you.” I instantly wanted to paint them, but felt like I probably didn’t have time and wouldn’t be able to do them justice. But I opened up a fresh canvas and began, anyways.

In a season of busy preparation (with a behind the scenes, to-do list that could fill pages), painting these blooms was exactly what I needed. Florals in blue and white are like comfort food to me. And even now as I type these words, I pause and thank God that I get to… get to see flowers and marvel at their beauty, get to paint… get to wrap presents and commissioned paintings.
